Cartier Nominees Revealed

The nominees for the 27th Cartier Racing Awards have been announced, with Juddmonte's star 3-year-old filly Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) vying for the Cartier Horse of the Year Award with Anthony Oppenheimer's G1 QIPCO Champion S. victor Cracksman (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Godolphin's top miler Ribchester (Ire) (Iffraaj {GB}) and two-time Group 1 winner Ulysses (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) for Flaxman Stables and Cheveley Park Stud. The equine awards, along with the Cartier/The Daily Telegraph Award of Merit, will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the Dorchester Hotel, London, England before an invited crowd of 300.

“The revealing of the eight equine Cartier Racing Awards is eagerly awaited on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 14, while the Cartier/The Daily Telegraph Award of Merit is going to a very special person,” said Harry Herbert, Cartier's Racing Consultant.

The Cartier winners are decided as follows: by points earned by horses in pattern races (30%) combined with opinions of a panel of racing journalists/handicappers (35%), and votes from readers of Racing Post and The Daily Telegraph plus ITV Racing viewers (35%).
