Takeittotheedge took solid public support at odds of 4-1 for this career unveiling and won with complete authority at Gulfstream Park Saturday, becoming the newest 'TDN Rising Star'. The flashy chestnut posted a steady series of works over the local strip, culminating in a bullet five-furlong gate breeze in :59.73 Feb. 27. Sent straight to the front, the colt led through fractions of :23.04 and :46.24. Takeittotheedge received a couple of right handed taps to keep his mind on business in upper stretch and pulled away to notch a 7 3/4-length victory over longshot Cheyenne Bull (Curlin), who snuck up the rail and rallied to complete the exacta. The winner's dam is a half-sister to GSW & GISP Willa On The Move (Two Punch) and his second dam is a half-sister to GI Travers S. hero Will's Way. This is also the extended family of MGISW Tizway (Tiznow). Takeittotheedge sold for $135,000 as a KEESEP yearling. Willathewest foaled a colt by Hat Trick (Jpn) in 2015 and was covered by GI Breeders' Cup Classic hero Blame later last year. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $24,000.
