Breeders' Cup Aim For Alice Springs

Alice Springs | Racing Post

Triple Group 1-winning filly Alice Springs (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) is on the way back from injury and has the Breeders' Cup at Del Mar on Nov. 4 as a key target. The 4-year-old finished second in the 2015 GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Keeneland and, after finishing third in the G1 1000 Guineas and G1 Coronation S. the following season, won the G1 Falmouth S., G1 Matron S. and G1 Sun Chariot S. She was beaten five lengths when 10th in last year's GI Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita, and has been off since being injured after her seasonal debut, a second in the G3 Gladness S. on Apr. 9.

“Alice Springs is on the way back,” said trainer Aidan O'Brien. “I would like to get her ready for the Breeders' Cup, and get a run in beforehand.”
