Charlie Boden, who has served as Calumet Farm's Racing Manager and Stallion Season Sales Director since last August, is leaving that operation to reestablish his bloodstock consultancy agency, Charles H. Boden Thoroughbhreds, Inc.
“Calumet Farm's mission is to revive the legacy that it once enjoyed and they are well on their way,” said Boden. “I am forever a fan of the farm and will cheer for the team to return it to its former glory.”
Boden had previously served as Darley America's Head of Sales for nearly 10 years, overseeing the careers of top stallions including Bernardini, Medaglia d'Oro and Street Cry (Ire) and helping to bring the likes of Street Sense and Hard Spun to the farm.
“I am certainly open to other options, but in the immediate, I plan on returning to the world of bloodstock consulting where I enjoyed considerable success for almost 20 years prior to being hired by John Ferguson to join Darley in 2006,” offered Boden. “I'm hoping that, by aligning myself with ambitious clients like Darley and Calumet, I will have plenty to do. I am something of a unique demographic–a 58-year-old father of two grade school kids. That will keep me energized and a member of the work force in a business I absolutely love for some time to come!”
