+ALUM (c, 2, Bodemeister–P. S. U. Grad {SW & MGSP, $265,938}, by Harlan's Holiday) took all the play for his debut and backed up the money with a convincing victory at Gulfstream West. Coming in off a bullet half-mile gate breeze in :49 1/5 Nov. 8 at Palm Beach Downs, the $140,000 Fasig-Tipton July grad broke a bit inwardly as the 11-10 public choice, but recovered quickly to duel for command through honest splits of :22.62 and :45.45. Taking over from the pacesetter at the eighth pole, the bay kicked clear powerfully to score by 5 1/2 lengths. Quality Asset (Quality Road), the other firster in the field, was second-best. The winner is the 10th for his freshman sire (by Empire Maker). His second dam is a half to GISW Richter Scale (Habitony {Ire}), while his multiple graded stakes-placed dam is responsible for a yearling colt by Street Sense who went for $200,000 at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga. P. S. U. Grad also foaled a Midnight Lute filly this term before visiting American Pharoah. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $18,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
