BOBBY ON FLEEK (c, 3, Frost Giant–Bema's Gold, by Out of Place) was tabbed a “TDN Rising Star” after romping by six lengths in his Belmont Park unveiling July 9 and finished second to a “TDN Rising Star” worthy performance from Syndergaard (Majesticperfection) next out in a muddy renewal of the state-bred Funny Cide S. at Saratoga Aug. 26. Benched since that effort, the homebred was hammered down to 1-2 favoritism to return to winning ways in this NY-bred test. Pressing Tribecca (Bustin Stones) from second through an opening quarter in :23.09, the chestnut drew alongside the leader turning for home and spurted clear in the stretch to win by 3 1/4 lengths. The winner has a 2-year-old half-brother by Regal Ransom and newborn half-sister by Rule by Night. Lifetime Record: SP, 3-2-1-0, $125,200.
