Baker's Dozen Set for Breeders' Futurity

Free Drop Billy | Coady

Headed by the second and third-place finishers of Saratoga's GI Hopeful S., there looks to be plenty of potential on display in Saturday's GI Claiborne Breeders' Futurity S. at Keeneland, a 'Win and You're In' contest for the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

Free Drop Billy (Union Rags), favored at 2-1 on the morning-line, should appreciate this first attempt around two turns off the heels of rallying runner-up efforts in the GIII Sanford S. July 22 and Hopeful Sept. 4. Albaugh Family Stables and trainer Dale Romans also teamed up for a win in this race with Brody's Cause in 2015.

Givemeaminit (Star Guitar) seeks to earn his diploma at third asking here. He was also right there in a wild finish of the Hopeful, placing third, beaten only a neck. The Louisiana-bred, trained by Dallas Stewart, closed to finish second behind the subsequent Hopeful winner Sporting Chance (Tiznow) on debut sprinting at the Spa July 22.

'TDN Rising Star' Ten City (Run Away and Hide), winner of Churchill's GIII Bashford Manor S. June 30, enters off a pair of third-place finishes, headed by a rallying third in the GIII Iroquois S. Sept. 16.
