Baker To Take Up Agent Role

George Baker | Racing Post

Former jockey George Baker, forced to retire last November after suffering severe head injuries in a fall at St. Moritz, will become agent to Godolphin riders William Buick and James Doyle later this year. Baker takes over the role from Michael Haggas, who is retiring.

Baker, who rode over 1300 winners in an 18-year career, including a victory in the 2016 G1 St Leger aboard Harbour Law (GB) (Lawman {Fr}), said, “It's a fantastic opportunity and I feel very honoured to have been asked to do it. I'll take over at the end of the season, sort of thing. I'm going to go spend a bit of time with Michael in October to see how he does things and we'll go from there.”
