BEYOND REASON (IRE) (f, 2, Australia {GB}–No Explaining {GSW-US, $328,095}, by Azamour {Ire}), runner-up over this trip at Newmarket May 19, broke well from her wide draw and soon led. Stretching her rivals after the turn for home, the 1-2 favourite was eased late to record a four-length success from Hawayel (Ire) (Dandy Man {Ire}). In doing so, she became the first winner in Europe's main racing nations by her first-season sire (by Galileo {Ire}) after he had got off the mark in Russia. The dam, who captured the GIII Gallorette H. and was third in both the GII Dance Smartly S. and GII Lake George S., also has a yearling colt by Gleneagles (Ire). This is the family of the GSW and G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest third Wessam Prince (GB) (Soviet Star) and Bayamo (Ire) (Valanour {Ire}) who took the GII American H. and was runner-up in the GI Eddie Read H. and GI Charles Whittingham Memorial H.
