Arlington International Racecourse has released its 2017 stakes schedule with 20 stakes worth over $3.4 million. The meet kicks off May 5 and will run through Sept. 23.
The schedule is once again highlighted by the GI Arlington Million, GI Beverly D. S. and GI Secretariat S., all of which are run Aug. 12. The purse for the Beverly D. was cut to $600,000 this term compared to $700,000 in 2016 and the Secretariat purse was lowered from $450,000 to $400,000.
Stakes season gets underway May 13 with the GIII Hanshin Cup and Million Preview Day, which features the GIII Stars and Stripes S., GIII American Derby, GIII Arlington H. and GIII Modesty H., will be held July 8.
