Runner-up to TDN Rising Star September (Ire) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) in a strong renewal of the Listed Chesham S. over seven furlongs at the Royal meeting June 24, Nyaleti who wears her heart on her sleeve was also in that position behind another of Ballydoyle big noises Clemmie (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) in the G2 Duchess of Cambridge S. at Newmarket at this trip July 14. Stepping up significantly on rain-eased ground and enhancing the form of those contests in the process, the bay registered an emphatic success with Ryan Moore on board this time instead of in front. Granted a lead for the first time in her career as stablemate Rebel Assault (Ire) (Excelebration {Ire}) rocketed from the gates, she enjoyed a clear margin to the remainder and never looked likely to let them in after taking control with 1 1/2 furlongs remaining. Drawing steadily drew from there, she hit the line strong with daylight to the previously unbeaten Dance Diva. “Mark was a bit worried about the ground, but she was always very comfortable and in a good rhythm and kept building all way to the line,” her impressed rider said. “She's been beaten by two good fillies, but she may have put in an improved performance today.”

Trainer Mark Johnston was pondering targets afterwards. “Ryan has never ridden her before, but got off and said he thought that was an improved performance based on having beaten her twice,” he said. “My gut feeling is it is a significantly improved performance as well. I was so impressed with how she had everything at it with a quarter of a mile to go. There were concerns about the ground and the trip in that perhaps she is better over further. Ryan did say he would rather ride over a mile than six again and that seven would be ideal. He said she would get a mile before the end of the season. The [G2] Lowther [S. at York Aug. 24] is not out of the question, but we will take heed at what he said for sure.”

Nyaleti is out of the Listed Grand Criterium de Bordeaux winner America Nova, whose first foal was Sirpatrickmoore (Fr) (Astronomer Royal). He was runner-up in the G3 Greenham S. before going on to capture the G2 Expressway S. and place on three occasions at group 1 level under his alter ego of Weary in Australia. Next up from her was Stellar Path, who was successful in the G3 Prix des Reservoirs and GIII Athenia S.
