Another Listed Win For Frankel's Goldrush

Off the mark by three lengths over a mile at Navan on debut Sept. 2, Goldrush captured the Listed Carlingford S. over an extended 10 furlongs here Oct. 13 and was able to cope with this drop back in trip to extend her unbeaten record. Prominent from the outset, the bay gained a narrow advantage two furlongs from home and dug in tenaciously as Aneen closed in out wide. “I didn't think dropping back to a mile would inconvenience her, as she won over a mile at Navan and showed plenty of pace,” jockey Kevin Manning told Irish Racing.com. “She's just a filly on the up and I'm very, very pleased with her. She's a filly for the future. Her mother was the same. She's going the right way and I think there is plenty more improvement in her. I don't think we have seen the last of her yet. She stays well and she has pace, but all the good ones have that. Anything we have asked her to do she has done it. I can see her going plenty further than this. I don't think there is a great deal left for her this year, but we'll see plenty of her next year.”

The dam Alexander Goldrun was world renowned during her career, winning the G1 Pretty Polly S. twice and the G1 Nassau S., G1 Prix de l'Opera and G1 Hong Kong Cup. She is a half-sister to the sire Medecis (GB) who was runner-up in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains and G1 Prix de la Foret who hails from the family of the dual G1 Ascot Gold Cup hero Royal Rebel (GB) (Robellino) and group 1 winners Getaway (Ger) (Monsun {Ger}), Guiliani (Ire) (Tertullian) and Guignol (Ger) (Cape Cross {Ire}). Alexander Goldrun's 2-year-old daughter of Shamardal named Une Alliance (Ire) sold at Goffs Orby last year for €600,000, while she also has a colt foal by Muhaarar (GB).
