Seizing the early advantage, the chestnut zipped through early splits of :21.56 and :43.87. Showing the way into the lane from the three-path, the $54,000 BARJAN buy skipped clear in the lane with ears pricked and still under a hand ride to win by 1 3/4 lengths. Out of Balance (Kitten's Joy), whose dam Balance is a half-sister to Hall of Famer Zenyatta, came on late for second. The winner is the first foal out of Tippy Tapit, a half-sister to GISW millionaire Lion Tamer (Will's Way), who has since produced a yearling filly by Oxbow. She was bred back to Keen Ice.
