Aloisia Tunes Up at Cranbourne

Aloisia | Bronwen Healy

Aloisia (NZ) (Azamour {Ire}), successful in the Oct. 14 G1 Schweppes Thousand Guineas, trailed in last of all, but only five lengths behind the leader in the 800m trial (video) at Cranbourne on Monday morning. Aloisia was last seen running sixth in the G1 Kennedy Oaks at Flemington on Nov. 9.

“She wasn't here to win or to show anyone up,” said trainer Aaron Purcell to racenet.com.au. “She was here to do a strong piece of work, which she did. She'll have another strong piece of work at Caulfield next Tuesday and then she should be ready to go to [Listed] The Vanity over 1400 metres [on Feb. 17]. We've got four weeks to the [G1 Austsralian] Guineas [on Mar. 3] and we think we are on the right track.”
