In just under four weeks time Lady Aurelia (Scat Daddy) should get the opportunity to cement her position as one of the world's leading sprinters when she takes her chance in the G1 Coolmore Nunthorpe S. at York Aug. 25. The 3-year-old is currently trading around a 4/5 shot for the race following her demolition of Britain's top sprinters in the G1 King's Stand S. at Royal Ascot in June and her trainer Wesley Ward reports her in fine shape as she builds up towards her next European assignment. “She did some beautiful work on Tuesday, she's got a couple more works to go and we'll be ready,” Ward said. Lady Aurelia has clocked up a lot of air miles in her short career to date but Ward says she is taking it all in her stride. “She came back from Ascot in unbelievable shape and we're really happy with her. We'll have to wait and see what the ground is going to be like, but she won nicely in Ascot last year when the ground was wet, so I don't see it as a big problem. Either way we'll be there to give it a shot.” Lady Aurelia has tasted defeat just once in six starts when third to Brave Anna (War Front) in the G1 Connolly's Red Mills Cheveley Park S. at Newmarket last year after which it transpired she had burst a blood vessel.
