+SUNSET RIDGE (f, 3, Algorithms–Cades Bay, by Fusaichi Pegasus) took the bulk of the pari-mutuel action in Saturday's state-bred restricted seventh race at Belmont and ran to 2-1 favoritism in her career debut. A tracking second off a longshot leader through very easy opening fractions, the homebred bid for the lead with a little less than 2 1/2 furlongs remaining and turned for home clearly in front. Barbie on a Budget (Mineshaft) tried to make a race of it late, but though looking for the wire, Sunset Got home a one-length winner. Jon Clay's Alpha Delta stables purchased the winner's mare as a yearling for $90,000 at Keeneland September in 2007 before returning her to last year's Keeneland November sale, when she fetched $17,000 in foal to First Samurai. The mare produced a Stormy Atlantic colt for Alpha Delta in 2015. Sunset Ridge's second dam is MSW & MGSP Slide Show (Slewacide), the dam of Voodoo (Petionville), a hard-knocking sprinter on this circuit in the early 2000s. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $37,200.
