+ONE LAST CAST (f, 2, Algorithms–Firsttotheline, by First Samurai) got outmaneuvered to the lead, but found her best stride late to capture this first lucrative juvenile maiden race of the year in New York. The bay ceded position to Wesley Ward-trained Shivoo (Into Mischief) departing the gate and tracked the pace along the inside through a quarter-mile in :23.30. Shifted out in the lane, the New York-bred rallied steadily and pulled clear to score by 3 1/4 lengths over the pacesetter. The winner's dam–a half-sister to GI Cigar Mile H. winner Lion Tamer (Will's Way)–was acquired by Todd Pletcher for $75,000 as a Keeneland September yearling in 2010 and won once from just three starts carrying the silks of the trainer and his father, J.J. Firsttotheline produced colts by fellow Pletcher trainee Mission Impazible in both 2016 and 2017. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $50,000.
