+ALLURING STAR (f, 2, Exchange Rate–Spring Jump {MSP, $121,883}, by Jump Start), bought for an eye-popping $850,000 at OBS March after breezing a quarter-mile in :20 4/5, showed speed and gameness to graduate impressively on debut at Del Mar for the connections of MGISW and 'TDN Rising Star' Drefong (Gio Ponti). Showing a string of sharp workouts capped off by a five-furlong spin in 1:00 flat (7/26) here Aug. 29, the bay was given a 49-10 chance and broke alertly to show the way through a :21.99 quarter while tracked by second-timer Ms Bad Behavior (Blame). That one drew on even terms with the leader passing a :45.13 half, but Alluring Star had plenty in reserve and turned back her pursuer by the eighth pole, edging clear from there to a 2 1/2-length success. Ms Bad Behavior was 5 3/4 lengths ahead of the remainder in second. The winner is the first foal out of a dam whose subsequent produce is a yearling colt by Goldencents and a weanling Palace Malice filly.
