229 Days of NYRA Racing in 2018

The New York Racing Association's 2018 racing calendar calls for 229 days of live racing (vs. 234 in 2017) between Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course with a schedule similar to that of 2017.

NYRA's flagship Saratoga meet will once again feature 40 days of summer racing, beginning on Friday, July 20 and concluding on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3. Racing will again be conducted six days/week with dark days on Tuesdays.

Racing will continue at Aqueduct through Apr. 22 of next year, generally with four-day weeks during January and February and three-day weeks in March.

Belmont's spring/summer meet kicks off Friday, Apr. 28, with the three-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival taking place June 7-9, featuring the GI Belmont S. June 9. Racing will conclude at “Big Sandy” July 15, and return to the Elmont oval after Saratoga for the 36-day Fall Championship meet (Sept. 7-Oct. 28).

NYRA's 2018 season will finish with 38 days of racing at Aqueduct starting Nov. 2. After a four-day break during Christmas week, racing will return on New Year's Eve.
