Observations on the European Racing Scene turns the spotlight on the best European races of the day, highlighting well-pedigreed horses early in their careers, horses of note returning to action and young runners that achieved notable results in the sales ring. Thursday's Insights features a son of G1 Prix Vermeille heroine Galikova (Fr) (Galileo {Ire}).

2.20 Deauville, Debutantes, €27,000, 2yo, f, 9 1/2f (AWT)
AJAYEB (IRE) (Frankel%20(GB)#tot">Frankel {GB}) makes her debut for Al Shaqab Racing, who purchased her GI American Oaks and GI Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup-winning dam Harmonious (Dynaformer) for $2.8 million at the Keeneland November Sale. Jean-Claude Rouget saddles the February-foaled bay against the Wertheimers's Standing Up (Fr) (Motivator {GB}), a Christophe Ferland-trained daughter of the G3 Premio Carlo Chiesa scorer Sandslash (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}).

GALIKOR (GB) (Dansili {GB}) is one of two newcomers to represent the Wertheimers and is the most significant, being a son of the G1 Prix Vermeille winner Galikova (Fr) (Galileo {Ire}) who runs for the same Freddy Head stable. Andre Fabre saddles the other colt to race in the famous silks, the €360,000 ARQAUG purchase In Front (Fr) (Intello {Ger}), while they encounter Shadwell's Muwaaly (GB) (New Approach {Ire}), a Jean-Claude Rouget-trained son of the 2001 G1 1000 Guineas runner-up Muwakleh (GB) (Machiavellian).
